“But growing up, there wasn’t much representation, but now there’s a lot more representation I feel. While many favor heroes the likes of Batman and Spiderman, Queenan said he always liked the Black Panther. “I remember growing up you got caught with a book people called you a nerd,” he said. Reading has long been a passion of Queenan’s and as his hobby evolved into a full blown venture he noticed how people of all ages enjoy it too. “It was fantasy world type stuff because I grew up in Norristown, and sometimes I could escape,” Queenan said. Andrew Wheeler’s “Dungeons & Dragons” was one of his favorites. When organizing Liberty Comic Con, the Norristown native looked back on his childhood, his affinity for reading and love of fictional characters. Tickets cost $30 for adults and $15 for children on Saturday, and Sunday’s admission costs $25 for adults and $10 for children, according to the convention’s website.
